PR team gets pumped up for charity!

Ilkley-based Approach PR is pumping its heart felt efforts into supporting a Yorkshire-based national charity in 2015.

The award winning PR consultancy is partnering with Heart Research UK to carry out a number of fundraising activities throughout the year to raise funds and awareness around heart related issues.

Approach will be using its expertise in social media, event management and media relations to launch mini campaigns which will help raise money to support HRUK’s continuing research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease and its support of healthy heart community projects.

Inspired to support after working with Heart Research UK on its annual fundraising event, ‘Sing for your Heart’ last year, the six-strong team will kick start their efforts in February by completing their own personal exercise challenges, setting office tasks and promoting the importance of heart health on social media.

Managing Director of Approach PR, Suzanne Johns, said: “We are really excited to be to working with Heart Research UK this year. In a busy office environment it is easy to get tied to our computers. HRUK’s education, information and great work is the best incentive we need to raise our own heart rates and raise some cash!”

She added: “Together we can raise the sort of money that will help make a difference to families and especially children who are coping with heart disease in and around Yorkshire.”

The PR consultancy will continue to keep their hearts racing by participating in active lunches, embarking on a sponsored walk and hosting a large community event throughout the rest of the year.

Senior Community Fundraiser at Heart Research UK, Brian Curran, said: “Approach PR brightened my day when I received the news they had chosen us as their charity of the year.

“I am aware of the great reputation Approach has for supporting charities and we are determined to ensure that the experience will be valuable to both organisations by offering all employees the lifestyle checks we offer to businesses to encourage them to look after their hearts.”
