Cabfind.com MD attended George Osbourne’s Northern Powerhouse Reception

Cabfind.com managing director, Chris Jordan, was invited to Chancellor George Osbourne’s Northern Powerhouse Reception at Number 11 Downing Street, along with over 100 business leaders invited by MP’s from across the North of England to meet with George Osborne and discuss the government’s flagship transport agenda.

Employment minister and Wirral West MP, Esther McVey, chose Chris as one of her three nominees to represent business leaders from Wirral due to the success of Cabfind.com, which has grown to employing 100 people. As a leader in the on demand taxi sector and a major employer in Wirral, Chris was suitably placed to attend the Chancellors Northern Powerhouse Reception.

Cabfind.com is a taxi and coach on demand business which enables efficiencies and cost savings to large scale users of ‘Taxi-on-Demand’ services through its taxi booking platform in a corporate setting, with a UK reach. Cabfind.com also provide public hire, mixed fleet coaches, executive cars and private hire transport management, mainly to large organisations in the public and private sector across the UK.

Northern Powerhouse is the government’s flagship transport strategy for the North of England, headed by Transport for the North, with plans to connect the east and west coast, through infrastructure investment, high speed rail networks and shorter journey times in order to transform the northern economy.

Chris Jordan MD of Cabfind.com, said:

“Being invited to represent business leaders from Wirral at such a prestigious event is a huge pat on the back for Cabfind.com, we are a local business that operate nationally, whose roots stem from a traditional industry sector. We used our expertise and knowledge of the taxi trade to innovate and transform Cabfind.com into a logistical technology business, with a multi-million pound turnover in the space of a few years.

“It is exciting times to be involved in the Northern Powerhouse initiative and we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”

Esther first visited Cabfind.com headquarters in Wirral in 2013, to see the business operation, as part of her role as president of Wirral Business Partnership, now Wirral Chamber of Commerce.

Esther McVey, Employment Minister said:

“We are seeing more new jobs created in Wirral, and it’s thanks to innovative local companies like Cabfind. In fact Wirral now has the second highest concentration of fastest growing businesses in Britain. The Government is putting billions into the North West through Growth Deals to build a Northern Powerhouse.”
