Group makes investment splash at Suffolk seaside park

Park Holidays UK has authorised a £750,000 spend on improvement projects at its recently acquired Broadland Sands Holiday Park in Corton, Suffolk.

The investment will see the popular seaside park, located between Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, benefit from a raft of major upgrades including those of its guest facilities.

On the work schedule is a top-to-toe reconfiguration of the park’s central holiday complex where a new state-of-the-art entertainments venue will be created at its heart.

The holiday complex also plays host to Broadland Sands’ restaurants, bars, guest reception and a convenience store – all of which will be completely re-modelled and refitted.

In addition, a brand new suite will be created where holiday home owners, and those thinking of buying, can meet and talk over coffee with the park’s sales staff, seven days a week.

The green light for the projects was given shortly after Park Holidays UK acquired the business at the end of 2014, and work is scheduled for completion by Easter.

Tony Clish, director of Park Holidays UK, says the company is pulling out all the stops to ensure that the park’s many regular guests will receive a very pleasant surprise on their return:

“The facilities at Broadland Sands were already of a good standard, but as a company we are committed to keeping our holiday parks one step ahead of the competition.

“That’s why, after taking over the business, we made it our first task to walk around and draw up a wish-list of changes which would add to guests’ experiences.

“We have budgeted three-quarters of a million pounds for these projects, but we are prepared to let this figure over-run if it gives us the results we want,” added Mr Clish.

Park Holidays UK says it will also be bringing to Broadland Sands the strong family entertainments package which is an important feature of the other 23 parks it operates.

This includes free nightly shows featuring professional performers, including Simon Cowell’s TV talent contest winners plus well-known singers, comedians and other acts.

High value cash prizes are also offered in the park group’s link-up bingo, and free day-long children’s entertainment includes clubs and activities such as sci-fi laser adventure games.

Despite featuring on the company’s website only since the New Year, Tony Clish says that Broadland Sands already figures among the top five parks for bookings.

Its 440 caravan holiday homes include both those for rent, and others which are privately owned by families – and interest in these is also reported high.

Mr Clish says that holiday home ownership proved extremely popular last year across his group, and that 2015 is likely to see demand rise even further.

Pre-owned caravan holiday homes at Broadland Sands currently start from around £9995.

Current holiday prices – including three and four night breaks from £79.00 for up to six people.
