Manchester-based Designer Habitat reports 30% increase in turnover
Manchester-based kitchen and homewares product specialist, Designer Habitat has announced a 30% year-on-year increase in turnover and aims to achieve £50 million in sales by the end of 2017.
During the past 12 months, the company has reported a turnover of £18.5 million and is equating 30 per cent of this to new export markets across Europe.
CEO of Designer Habitat, Mark Januszewski, said: “Designer Habitat has shown strong growth since its initial launch in 2009 – we’ve witnessed a notable 400 per cent rise in turnover over the last three years alone.
“Our strong relationship with businesses in the Far East enables Designer Habitat to source and bring products to market at a fast rate.
“This allows us to respond to consumer trends quickly.
“Over the last 12 months, we have developed and introduced more than 150 new SKUs to our 600-strong product catalogue.
“2014 was a significant growth year for exporting and this is an aspect of our business that we are looking to develop even further.
“As part of the ongoing strategy, we are also planning to strengthen relationships on home soil.
“We are currently in talks with a national supermarket chain to become a main supplier.
“These strategic partnerships will ensure that Designer Habitat brands infiltrate multiple channels and outlets.”
