NECS are one of three companies shortlisted in this category of the Durham and Wearside heat which will be announced at a ceremony at Ramside Hall Hotel on Thursday 12th March.

NECS, which has offices in Durham, Newcastle, Teesside and Cumbria is a new NHS business created to help support health and social care organisations across the North East and Cumbria to commission the services they require to best meet the needs of their individual communities.

Stephen Childs, Managing Director, at North of England Commissioning Support said “To be shortlisted in the North East Business Awards is fantastic news for NECS and testament to the excellent customer service we aim to deliver on a daily basis. These prestigious awards are highlighting the very best of the regions business and we are very proud to be recognised in the top three of our category.

“NECS has shown tremendous progress since we were formed in 2013, not only establishing ourselves as leaders in our field regionally but also growing our customer base across the country. During the past year we have gained over 40 new customers from six business areas, including NHS England and their Area Teams, Local Authorities, NHS Trusts, other Commissioning Support Units and other Clinical Commissioning Groups outside of the region. We are able to do this by providing innovative solutions for our customers such as our business intelligence tool RAIDR, an award winning health campaign Keep Calm and Look After Yourself, antibiotic e-learning programmes and developing region wide processes for managing winter pressures on the health system.”

The awards, organised by The Journal and The Gazette, with support from the North East Chamber of Commerce, are the largest and most prestigious event of its kind in the North East. The awards - which have 14 different categories for different sectors and other business activities - recognises companies of all sizes and sectors that have gone the extra mile in the last 12 months. Judges will be rewarding strength in service excellence, service differentiation, business growth and innovation.
