Swanley High Street set for multi-million pound redevelopment
Three sites on Swanley High Street in Kent are set to be redeveloped by Sevenoaks District Council.
According to The Gravesend Reporter, the council is keen to turn the former Swanley Working Men’s Club into homes, shops and offices.
The council acquired the working men’s club for £1.25 million on Friday and says the site, combined with the car park, which it already owns, could be turned into 100 homes and shops.
Architects will be invited to submit their designs and a planning application is expected later this year.
A planning application for offices and flats on the site of the Meeting Point has already been submitted.
Council leader Cllr Peter Fleming said: “This is a very exciting venture that could benefit the whole town.
“These projects could be the spark to help with further regeneration.”
