Knight Frank appointed to market iconic St Paul's House in leeds

The comprehensive refurbishment of the magnificent Grade II* St Paul’s House in central Leeds will be completed in March this year, according to newly-appointed marketing agents Knight Frank.

The iconic 19th century building, which overlooks Park Square, is currently undergoing radical renovation work, including a new roof, to restore it to its former glory.

Eamon Fox, partner in charge of office agency at the Leeds office of Knight Frank, commented: “St Paul’s House, built in the Venetian style, is a great Leeds landmark. Once the refurbishment is complete, it will be a tremendous mixture of the old and the new.

“It will boast a high-quality Grade A office specification internally which, when combined with the stunning exterior façade and its unrivalled location, will offer one of the most attractive working environments in Leeds.

“At the moment the ground floor and the third floor are available to let, with 20,000 sq ft of prime office space on offer. Suites can be leased from 3,155 sq ft upwards with rents in the region of £26 per sq ft,” said Mr Fox.

Other occupiers in the building, which is owned by property investors Boultbee Brooks, include DTZ and The Care Quality Commission, while law firm DAC Beachcroft will move into 24,800 sq ft of offices once the refurbishment is complete.

St Paul’s House, which was built in 1878, was originally constructed as a warehouse and cloth-cutting works for Sir John Barran, the founder of the mass-production, ready-made clothing industry in Leeds. The architect was Thomas Ambler.

Eamon Fox commented: “This elegant building, with its Moorish façade, is full of history. But with a comprehensive concierge service, plenty of parking and the highest quality offices, it is ideally suited to the needs of the 21st century.”

The Leeds office of Savills will be marketing the building with Knight Frank.

This is the fourth new office agency instruction Knight Frank have been awarded this year, hard on the heels of Broad Gate and No I Whitehall Riverside in Leeds and Citadel House in Hull.
