Sedley Place wins Gambit Research interiors work

Creative agency Sedley Place has been appointed to create an interiors concept for the London headquarters of the software and insight consultancy Gambit Research.

The appointment, which follows a three-way pitch, sees Sedley Place design a bespoke interiors concept to refresh and redesign the growing consultancy’s 350sqm Hammersmith office.

Creating an informal, comfortable space to counterbalance a hi-tech environment is core to the brief, with circulation, lighting and storage high on the agenda to effectively activate the space. The solution will be implemented to a four-week turnaround from final concept, to minimise disruption to Gambit’s business.

Sonia Macedo, head of interiors and architecture at Sedley Place, said: ‘Gambit Research is in a listed building so we’re working within the confines of the existing structure. We’ve been briefed to create a cosy and comfortable environment that contrasts with the hi-tech nature of Gambit’s business and which is almost a home-from-home for a young team that often uses the space on a 24/7 basis.’

Sedley Place’s solution features redesigned meeting spaces, redrafted use for spaces to create better flow from team to team and from office to lounge areas, as well as bespoke, modular storage designed and built especially for the space and to a tight budget.

Emma Reay, spokesperson at Gambit Research, added: ‘The environment at Gambit is relaxed and informal. We work in small multi-discipline teams combining a range of skills and experience to tackle hard problems. The team at Sedley Place totally understood our need to create a softer, comfortable environment for our people, rather than focusing on harsher, more technical solution. They even took in account the need to find homes for the hats our team brings back from their global travels – in fact, that’s the red thread that runs through the concept, which we love. We’re looking forward to having a space that makes it easier for us to do business, but which also has bags of our personality running through it.’
