Investment in new vehicles boosts value for customers
Fairport Containers has invested in two brand new vehicles for the transportation of recycling banks, due to the fantastic success of its latest service arm.
The Chorley-based family firm provides refurbishment, remodelling, repair and manufacture of recycling banks to charities, local authorities and private businesses throughout the UK, as well as offering a full range of services for industrial waste containers. Its recycling banks arm quickly attracted a host of new clients since its launch in 2014.
The £120,000 investment into the two new vehicles will provide an even faster and more cost-effective service for customers. Each vehicle is fitted with a remote-controlled crane, to safely load and unload banks, and has the capacity to hold up to 20 recycling banks, including eight on a trailer. This will mean individual journeys are reduced, thereby creating the best value for customers.
The vehicles are also compact in size compared with a standard tractor unit and trailer. This allows them easier access to the locations where recycling banks are most commonly positioned, such as supermarket car parks or retail parks, which can often have restricted access and limited room to manoeuvre.
Fairport Containers’ recycling bank account manager, Lisa Mullally, commented: “Our aim is to provide the best possible customer experience and this investment shows the strength of our commitment to do just that. Not only do our new vehicles help save our customer time and money, but we have developed a unique method of cushioning the banks during transit to avoid scratches occurring.
“The vehicles also have improved safety features, such as a reversing camera, so that our drivers have full visibility, and beacons to provide a visible warning that the vehicle is in operation.“
Fairport Containers offers a unique fixed-fee transport cost to collect and deliver recycling banks to customers anywhere in the UK.
