Miller Homes commemorates heritage of new development

Leading housebuilder Miller Homes has unveiled a series of athletic-inspired street names at its newest development in Teesside.

Clairville Grange will commemorate the heritage of Middlesbrough’s former Clairville Stadium with Ceremony Wynd, Stadium Gardens and Harrier Way among the list of the development’s street names.

Donna Brown, sales manager for Miller Homes North East, said: “With such strong heritage associated with the site at Clairville we wanted to create a lasting legacy to celebrate the stadium’s history.

“We felt naming the development in honour of Clairville Stadium and selecting athletic-themed street names would be a fitting tribute.”

The full list of street names at Clairville Grange, which is set to open its doors in spring 2015, will include Ceremony Wynd, Field Avenue, Gold Court, Stadium Gardens, Harrier Way, Marathon Court plus Park Road South.

The announcement of the development’s tribute to the former stadium follows the start of initial works on site, which includes groundworks to the sales area and showhomes and the commencement of demolition work.

Clairville Grange will create 153 high quality family homes that have been sensitively designed to preserve and enhance the outlook and visual aspects of the surrounding area, including the views across the common land on the western boundary across to Albert Park.

A range of sustainability features will be incorporated within the development including a sustainable drainage system that will minimise the discharge rate of surface water and the capacity to cope with a much larger additional flow of water should heavy rainfall occur. This will feed into a new pond located off the North West corner of the site.

Donna added: “As part of our commitment to creating sustainable communities across the North East of England, Clairville Grange will offer Middlesbrough much needed family homes, with excellent transport links and local amenities on the doorstep, which will help address the current housing shortfall whilst enhancing the local area.

“With work now underway at the development, Clairville Grange is set to open its doors this spring with its first legal completion on the site expected in mid 2015. It will offer 153 family homes built to the highest standard by a team headed up by an award-winning site manager, whose work has been recognised by the NHBC.”

The construction of Clairville Grange will be overseen by site manager Mark Robson who received a Quality Award for his work at Miller Homes’ St Mary’s Green development in Acklam in the 2014 NHBC Pride in the Job Awards – the UK housebuilding industry’s most prestigious honours which are dedicated to recognising and rewarding outstanding site managers.

Located just a short drive from the heart of Linthorpe Village and Middlesbrough town centre, Clairville Grange will offer a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes, catering for a wide variety of buyers from those looking to secure their first home to growing families and downsizers.
