Plans for hundreds of homes in Wales

Leading housing developer Persimmon Homes has outlined plans for work to begin on more than 750 homes in Wales in 2015.

Six developments are earmarked for the region at Llantwit Major, Rhoose, and St Ederyn’s Cardiff, as well as Swansea, Gorseinon, Carmarthen and Cross Hands.

It adds to 13 sites that opened in the area last year in Pontypridd, Chepstow, Barry, Newport, Church Village, Cardiff, Abergavenny, Swansea, Pembroke, Pyle, Haverfordwest, Lamphey and Llanelli.

Plans for the new builds is a further boost to the Welsh economy as Persimmon Homes looks to add to 1,000 homes built in South Wales last year.

At Heritage Gate, Llantwit Major, 149 units consisting of two, three, four and five bedroom homes will be built.

Plans are in place at Lysander Gardens in Rhoose near Barry and would include a new collection of around 220 homes. It is designed to offer residents a peaceful village life that is within easy reach of Cardiff and Barry. Part of the development will see the creation of a public open space and a community sports field with changing rooms.

Glan yr Afon is a site of two, three and four bedroom houses comprising of 90 properties coming soon to the city of Swansea. There will be a selection of two, three and four bedroom homes.

Plans for the Kingsbridge Court development in Gorseinon, Swansea include a mix of new homes that are perfect for growing families and those looking to move up the housing ladder.

Around 125 homes are earmarked for Maes y Parc in Cefneithin near Cross Hands . They will be a new collection of two, three and four bedroom homes .

It will be in addition to Cwrt y Llwyfen in Carmarthen which will boast two, three, four and five bedroom homes.

The news comes as Persimmon Homes announced a strong end to 2014. Across the UK there was a rise of 17% in legal completions in 2014 to 13,509 – almost 2,000 than 2013 where the figure stood at 11,528.

Persimmon’s average selling price rose 5% from £180,941 to £190,500 and the full year revenues increased 23% over 2013 to £2.6 billion.
