Porridge café ‘pops up’ in Shoreditch

Following on from the success of the Cereal Killer Café, Shoreditch is to welcome a pop-up porridge cafe.

The Porridge Café is the brainchild of founder and director Nik Williamson, who quit his job in the city two years ago to run street food stalls.

Some of the options include breakfast oats, quinoa and savoury based meals made with risotto and beetroot. Visitors can take away the meals to enjoy for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The cafe will also offer a range of different milks to choose from catering to all dietary needs and 11 different types of grain.

Nik said: “For me it is about brining something healthier to the table. With the Cereal Killer Café you have got something that is a novelty.

“A lot of people don’t realise how many grains there are that you can make porridge with.

“People aren’t aware they can use beetroot to make their porridge look bright red and beautiful, quinoa you can put into the mix which is a really good superfood.”

The café will be open from March 2 until the end of the month in Paul Street, Shoreditch.
