Three experienced leadership professionals have teamed up to establish a new business school in Manchester.

Valette’s Business School Manchesterwill offer programmes on subjects ranging from leadership and management to entrepreneurship and finance. It will also offer one-to-one leadership coaching and mentoring.

It will target managers, directors, executives, board members and graduates in companies, charities and public sector bodies including the NHS, national and local government departments, housing and policing organisations, schools and academies.

Valette’s has been set up by Dr Ged Drugan and Carol Brooks, with Prof John Murphy as the academic adviser.

It will be officially launched on Wednesday, February 25 at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation, Chorlton Mill, Cambridge Street.

He has worked with business leaders from various countries, and has been a management coach and entrepreneur.

Carol is a business psychologist and leadership coach with expertise in organisational development. She is Valette’s director of coaching and mentoring services, and has experience of working with senior leaders in the public and private sectors.

Prof Murphy is Professor of Customer Management at Manchester Business School. He has advised corporate giants such as Shell, Santander and Telefonica O2 on the subject, and currently chairs the Customer Management Leadership Group, a network of senior executives in the public and private sectors and academics.

The business school is named after French impressionist painter Adolphe Valette (1876-1942), whose most celebrated works are urban landscapes of Manchester, many of which are housed in the city’s art gallery.

Ged said: “We chose the name because it reflects Manchester’s rich cultural and industrial heritage.

“We will be offering innovative and inspirational business education at affordable prices, delivered by world-class experts.

“Valette’s aims to transform the lives of delegates of all ages and at all stages of their careers, and to transform the performance of organisations.

“Our programmes will give delegates the opportunity to make a real impact on their business performance, by helping them to hone their personal and leadership skills to optimise their development and realise their potential.

“We’ll be providing challenging, energising and memorable experiences, and we are thoroughly excited about this venture.”

As well as running programmes in Manchester, Valette’s will operate from centres across the UK and overseas, including Russia, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and north America.

Programmes for 2015 include ones focusing on business enterprise, senior international leadership, entrepreneurship in the not-for-profit sector, finance, leadership coaching and personal resilience.
