Leeds’ Wellington Place announced as headline MIPIM 2015 partner
Wellington Place has been announced as Leeds City Region’s headline partner for the international property forum MIPIM 2015.
The Leeds city centre development joins the largest private sector delegation to ever attend MIPIM from the Leeds City Region.
Wellington Place, which is funded by Hermes Investment Management and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB)and managed and developed by MEPC and Leeds City Region will promote opportunities around HS2 and the wider potential of a Northern Powerhouse to the global audience.
James Dipple, chief executive of MEPC, said: “MEPC, working with Hermes Investment Management and CPPIB, is committed to delivering a connected North that rebalances the UK economy and drives growth and jobs for UK plc.
“Wellington Place is part of this commitment and is an outstanding new urban quarter and business location, which is already home to Sky Bet, Allianz, Irwin Mitchell and Shulmans LLP and is creating an exciting new environment within Leeds.
“MIPIM offers the private sector leaders a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate why Leeds City Region, is the premier investment-ready location in the UK to the attendees from around the world, as well as building long-standing relationships with key influencers.”
Tom Riordan, chief executive of Leeds City Council, added: “This year’s MIPIM is the most ambitious yet for Leeds and the City Region.
“The last few years have been an exciting time, with new developments opening and new builds breaking ground across the city.
“We’re delighted that Wellington Place will be promoted as part of the Leeds City Region delegation and will be able to provide first hand commentary on the unique benefits of Leeds and the wider city region to occupiers.”
Leeds City Region’s presence at MIPIM is led by Leeds and Partners on behalf of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership.
The private sector commitment is at an all-time high, with partners including Arup, CEG, GVA, Town Centre Securities, Shulmans LLP, Harworth Estates, Munroe K and Curtins Consulting confirmed to join headline partner Wellington Place.
Additional supporters include aql, Monaghans and Barton Legal. Public sector representatives from across Leeds City Region will attend to demonstrate the strength of the public-private partnership.
