Lowry Outlet sees 15% increase in footfall thanks to help from Peppa Pig

The Lowry Outlet shopping centre saw a 15% increase in footfall compared to the same period last year thanks to an Peppa Pig themed event that ran during half term.

The peak in visitors was the result of the three day event which was held at The Lowry Outlet between 17th -19th of February, which saw TV favourite Peppa Pig meet and greet fans in the centre and themed craft activities to entertain children.

The increase in footfall translated to an increase in sales which were up 10% across the centre, with the strongest category performances coming from Footwear, up 162%, Menswear which was up 31% and Entertainment and Leisure which saw an increase in sales of 17%.

Centre Manager at Lowry Outlet, Helen Anderton, said “The increase in footfall and sales comes as a result of the three day Peppa Pig event which we held at the centre.

“We appealed to the family market in our catchment area, but we also wanted to make sure the people who visited the event took advantage of the retail offering.

“We feel the sales figures illustrate this, and support the requirement to hold regular events, something that is important in the Peel Outlets business model”.
