Over 900 job applications submitted at planned John Lewis store in Horsham
More than 900 people have applied for 192 jobs at a planned John Lewis At Home and expanded Waitrose supermarket in Horsham, which is due to open later this year.
According to The Argus, the new 45,000 sq ft John Lewis store will share its location on Albion Way with a 27,000 sq ft Waitrose supermarket.
The existing Waitrose in Horsham will be relocated to the new site and all 120 current ‘partners’ will also be transferred.
Last month, the government listed the South East as the region with the highest employment rate in the UK.
Rebekah Hawley, personnel growth manager at John Lewis, said: “We’ve been extremely impressed with the calibre of candidates who have applied for positions at our new John Lewis ‘At Home’ and Waitrose, Horsham.
“Those who are successful will benefit from the John Lewis Partnership’s unique structure, meaning they will all be co-owners of the business and receive a host of benefits.”
