Schneider Electric - the next generation of wall switches
The Saturn eDLT range provides homeowners with a stylish wall switch, which gives them the capability to control multiple devices in the home with just one touch
London, UK – March 3rd, 2015–Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, has introduced stylish design into its next generation of wall switches. The new Saturn eDLT range builds on the success of the C-Bus DLT switch by taking it to a whole new level of sophistication. It allows the user to control 16 devices by scrolling multiple pages with one sleek switch.
With enhanced colour, control and functionality options, the Saturn eDLT range offers a huge variety of installer and user benefits. The enhanced dynamic labelling technology not only labels the switch, but also has the ability to show state of the controlled device, even when it has more than one state. For example, not only will it highlight that a ceiling fan is being controlled, but also whether it is running on high, medium or low speed.
The Saturn eDLT is equipped with LED indicators, which can switch between eight different colours corresponding to the status of the devices being controlled. Homeowners can also customise the facias, which are available in seven different finishes, to match their interior décor. On top of all this, the background and foreground of the screen itself can be colour-coded to suit the design and style of the room.
“We are entering a new era of smart homes, where everything is connected to make people’s lives simpler, and more comfortable. These switches allow homeowners to fit the technology into the style of their own home, whilst still allowing them to make smarter decisions about their energy usage,” says Asad Zaidi, Category Engineer of Light and Room Controls at Schneider Electric. “However, this doesn’t mean that the technology has to be complicated or expensive, simple wall switches like the Saturn eDLT allow for cutting edge home design, while still serving a multitude of purposes at affordable prices”.
Other features include:
Dual action buttons – a short press will toggle the selected device to its opposite space, while the left/right function can cycle through stored scenes Field-upgradeable firmware – a USB port on the back of the device enables easy installation and software upgrade. Proximity sensing – proximity sensor wakes up the eDLT from standby when the user’s hand comes within 5cm of the screen
