Nuffield launches Printworks Fitness, Wellbeing and Medical Centre

Nuffield Health has officially launched its Manchester Printworks Fitness & Wellbeing Centre unveiling a £1m make-over following its acquisition from Virgin Active last year.

As well as unrivalled fitness facilities, The Centre brings first class medical facilities to the City. Its opening is a further step towards Nuffield Health’s vision to collaborate with other healthcare providers to create a new model of healthcare provision for those living and working in the region.

As well as offering a cutting-edge gym and free weights room the Centre also features a pool, steam rooms and numerous exercise studios. In a unique move the Nuffield Centre is also offering a pay as you go drop in GP service, on-site blood testing and a host of wellbeing amenities including physiotherapy, nutritional therapy and sexual health services.

The Centre was officially launched by Barbara Baker, Nuffield’s Manchester Market Director.

The Printworks Centre, is the second of Nuffield’s facilities to launch in Manchester, complementing Nuffield’s Manchester Health Clinic in Salford Quays. Last year Nuffield Health also announced the development of a brand new state of the art circa £60m, 100 bed hospital on Hathersage Road which is set for completion in 2017. The combined hospital and fitness and wellbeing facilities will complement the existing healthcare infrastructure in the Northwest, as well as serve as hotbeds for research and development in close collaboration with communities and business and education partners in the North West.

Simon Tillott, General Manger at Nuffield, said: “The launch of the Printwork’s Fitness & Wellbeing a massive step towards bringing our vision of complete and integrated health and wellbeing, services to those who live and work in Manchester, and we are delighted to see the doors open to the public after an extensive programme of refurbishment.
