Plain sailing for Harrogate seafood supplier thanks to Ainsty Inns deal

Yorkshire pub company, Ainsty Inns has partnered with Harrogate-based supplier, Ramus Seafood Emporium, to provide seafood for fish dishes across its three venues.

Ramus will be supplying seafood to all three of the group’s pubs across Yorkshire including The Chequers Inn in Bilton-In-Ainsty, The Swan and Talbot in Wetherby, and The Beehive Restaurant in Thorner.

From scampi to hot smoked salmon to crab and fresh haddock for the pub’s ever-popular fish and chips dish, all produce is sourced from the local east coast and delivered within 24 hours of landing.

Ramus also offers a unique partnership with day boat fishermen to supply a diverse wild catch range, providing Ainsty with a variety of species to choose from and ensuring the pub’s customers can always be assured of something different.

Adrian Rowe, Ainsty Group executive chef said: “It’s important to us that we use the best quality, local ingredients in all of our dishes. We like to keep our menu as seasonal as possible, so will work with Ramus to plan seafood dishes based on their expertise.”

Ainsty Group partner, Antony Pratt said: “We are delighted to be partnering with a local business for our seafood supply. Part of our ethos is to support local businesses as much as we can, as well as sourcing the highest quality produce and keeping food miles to a minimum.”

Tony Rushton at Ramus Seafood Emporium said: “We’re delighted to be working with Ainsty Inns in a long term partnership to ensure that all three of the pubs get the very best produce and service. We are looking forward to working closely with the group this year and ensuring that Ainsty’s customers can rely on always being served the best seafood.”

Ramus Seafood Emporium in Harrogate celebrated 40 years of business last year.

It is recognised as one of the best Seafood suppliers in the region and was awarded Seafood Supplier of the Year 2014 at the Food Awards England & Wales and is commended for Fishmonger of the Year at the Farm Shop & Deli Awards 2015.
