Newcastle law firm Watson Burton wins Tyne Tunnels contract
TT2 Ltd, the company which operates the Tyne Tunnels, has appointed Newcastle-based law firm Watson Burton as legal advisors.
The contract was won from a magic circle firm in London, and will see the team at Watson Burton exclusively advise TT2 on all future legal matters.
Rachel Turnbull, CEO of TT2, said that the decision to work with a North East based firm reflected the high quality of expertise and service which rivalled London-based competitors.
She said: “The team at Watson Burton understand the business landscape in the region, and as a result offer informed and pragmatic legal advice. So far we have been very impressed by the senior-led service levels and timely advice provided by the team.”
The Tyne Tunnels cater for around 50,000 journeys a day, operating alongside the Tyne pedestrian tunnels.
Duncan Reid, partner and head of the corporate and commercial team at Watson Burton, said: “As a firm we are heavily involved in campaigning to help the North East realise its economic potential.
“We look forward to working in partnership with Rachel and TT2 to provide strategic support to one of the largest transport infrastructure assets in our region.”
