Oldham chemical manufacturer sees 80% sales growth
Oldham-based chemical manufacturer James Briggs Ltd has seen its automotive paint brand, Hycote, achieve an 80% increase in sales for the financial year to date.
James Briggs has been manufacturing Hycote products at its Royton facility for over 30 years, initially for the motorsport industry before extending its range to meet the consumer market.
The growth figure has been driven by strong performance last autumn in a market which is traditionally more active in the spring and summer months.
In October to December, traditionally the quietest quarter, Hycote doubled its sales.
The company has attributed the exceptional growth to strong promotional trading as well as the opening of new distributor accounts.
Commercial Director of James Briggs Ltd, Max Bass, said: “2014/15 has proved to be an extremely positive year for the business so far, and it is extremely pleasing to see Hycote performing so well alongside our private label portfolio.
“As we head into the traditional buying season, we expect to see further growth as a result of the new products, website and branding, which will bring retailers and consumers closer to the Hycote portfolio.”
