A trio of awards for North West Accountant

A Manchester accountant has beaten off strong competition to be named ‘Most Valuable Professional 2015,’ by global software giant, Xero.

Paul Barnes, founder of forward-thinking accountancy practice, My Accountancy Place, was presented with his award at the annual Xero conference in London, attended by over 850 accountancy professionals from across Europe. The accolade is the third the accountant has received in just four months, having also been named ‘Finance Professional of the Year’ at the Manchester Young Talent Awards and ‘Best Newcomer Commendation’ at the Talk of Manchester Awards.

Paul was praised for his innovative use of Xero’s cloud-based accountancy software, which enables users to control their accounts quickly, easily and whilst on the go.

Having only set up Spinningfields-based My Accountancy Place in February 2014, Paul now heads up a team of five, and has gone from servicing two clients to over sixty. The practice specialises in providing all the benefits of an in-house Financial Director, but minus the high costs. My Accountancy Place’s model is particularly suited to the digital and creative sectors, though the practice boasts clients across a wide range of industries.

Speaking on his recent success, Paul Barnes said: “It’s incredible to be named Xero’s Most Valuable Professional 2015, especially when up against such fantastic forward-thinking accountants.
