Newcastle Company scoops National Innovation Award

An enterprising Newcastle based firm is celebrating after scooping a prestigious national innovation award.

Thinkube created a Facebook style software programme called thinkchange, designed to embed innovation and increase customer and employee engagement in the workplace.

The easy to use application received the ‘Most Innovative IT System’ award at the 2015 Housing Innovation Awards in London.

Thinkube managing director Ian Conway, said: “We’re thrilled to win this award and feel it reflects on all of the hard work put in to make thinkchange such a success.

“We passionately believe that the most successful companies are those that engage with their staff and customers in a transparent way, and thinkchange helps them achieve this.”

One of the first organisations to adopt Thinkchange was Solihull Community Housing in the West Midlands.

SCH Chief Executive Steve Boyd, said: “Thinkchange has really helped our staff channels of communication.

“We have adopted a number of innovative ideas and suggestions expressed on the Thinkchange platform and so were happy to put it forward for this award.”

The Judges said: “It was one of the most hotly contested categories. What we liked about Thinkchange is that it’s a small simple idea that could actually revolutionise the whole industry.”

The Housing Innovation Awards celebrate the pioneering spirit within the housing industry and recognises inventive and original schemes and services.
