Knew member of the team at award-winning video agency

A Rossett-based video production company has taken on a new member of staff in response to growing demand for video from businesses.

Jessica Piercy, 18, has joined national award-winning Knew Productions as a trainee video editor.

The appointment comes hot on the heels of Knew Productions winning a number of international contracts, as well as on going work with businesses based in Cheshire and North Wales.

Jessica, who recently studied film and media studies, has wanted to work in the industry for as long as she can remember and is relishing the opportunity ahead.

She said: “I have always had a fascination in the video production process and how it can be used to convey messages to any audience.

“Video is vibrant and exciting and is becoming the go-to medium for businesses to communicate with its customers and other stakeholders.

“To be working for Knew Productions and gaining the experience I am is amazing.”

Jessica applied for the position through Jobs Growth Wales, a programme that has provided more than 12,000 paid employment opportunities to youngsters aged 16-24.

She has already played key roles in producing video work for Knew Productions’ clients including Hickory’s in Chester, Wrexham Council and Clwyd Theatr Cymru.

Her arrival comes at an exciting time for Knew Productions, which has seen an increase in businesses using video for their websites, social media marketing and at exhibitions and trade shows.

Richard Knew, a fellow of the Institute of Videography and managing director of Knew Productions, said: “Jessica stood out in her interview because of her interest and flair in post-production and editing.

“The filming is often a relatively small part of the process and so a lot of work takes place behind the scenes at the editing stage to produce the finished article.

“Jessica plays a vital role in this now and has already exceeded expectations in how she has grasped editing and looking after our visiting clients.”

Knew Productions has been delivering broadcast quality corporate video for more than 15 years. It works with companies and organisations like Visit Wales, Sharp, The Royal Engineers, North Wales Police and USA-based Tyndall Design.
