LivingSocial donates £20,000 of transactions to Comic Relief

LivingSocial has donated over £20,000 to this year’s Comic Relief campaign, with many more donations to be sent over the coming weeks.

The local discovery engine teamed up with 76 UK businesses to create a range of special deals, from which it donates £1 per transaction to the cause.

LivingSocial’s partnership with Comic Relief began in 2013, providing customers with the chance to donate, not by digging in their own pocket, but by simply booking a fun activity, trip or experience. Combined with previous contributions, the total LivingSocial has donated to the charity is more than £50,000.

Steven Marritt, CEO of LivingSocial UK & IE, said: “Comic Relief is a British institution, which has helped disadvantaged people all around the world for 30 years, and we’re proud to be an official partner.

“While we’re fortunate enough to provide a range of fun and exciting experiences for our customers, donating just a small amount from each one sold can make a massive different to those less privileged.

“Many of the specially-sourced deals will stay live until the end of the month and visitors to the site can also choose to donate in denominations of £2, £5, £10 or £20, so we urge everyone to help us make this year a donation record!”
