Housebuilder volunteers turn out to support the Friends of Lakeside Park
Barratt Homes North East has joined forces with the Friends of La, to support a community initiative aimed at cleaning the surroundings of the local beauty spot of Killingworth Lake.
Ten members of staff from Barratt Homes in Newcastle volunteered to clean around Killingworth Lake on 5th March. The Friends of Killingworth Lake is an organisation dedicated to the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of the lake, which is situated next to Barratt Homes’ Lakeside View development on Northumbrian View in Killingworth.
Richard Nash, Sales and Marketing Graduate at Barratt Homes North East, commented: “We were delighted to come out and support the Friends of Killingworth Lake with this project. The work they undertake to keep the local surroundings as beautiful as possible is a testament to the difference community groups can make. And with many of our homes for sale at our Lakeside View development overlooking the lake, we wanted to make sure our customers can enjoy the fantastic views that it can offer.”
Dian Nelson, from the Friends of Killingworth Lake, commented: “It is great to see local companies, such as Barratt Homes, coming out to help us with making sure the lake always looks fantastic. Like they say, ‘many hands make light work’ and the area looked beautiful in no time!”
Lakeside View, which is based on Northumbrian Way in Killingworth, offers a range of two, three and four bedroom homes on the picturesque bank of Killingworth Lake, with prices starting from £180,495.
