White & Company make the right move
In a deal worth £332,000, national removal business, White & Company, has taken delivery of two top-specification Euro 6 MAN TGS 18.400 4x2 drawbar chassis.
The company, whose head office is based in Botley, Southampton, said they are adding MAN to their fleet because they offer a lighter option than some of their counterparts. White & Company’s Group Fleet Manager, Lynne Snow, said: “We previously added MAN trucks to the fleet in 2011 and the drivers really liked them. They appreciate the space and comfort inside the cab.
“We usually use Scania but needed something smaller than 18 tonne but bigger than a 7.5 tonne. This led to us trying out the 10 tonne trucks that MAN had to offer. We were pleased with the outcome and have since purchased a number of 10 tonners and 15 tonners.
“These two new vehicles are larger. With fully opening sides and a pod on the roof of the cab, they offer more space for drivers and a level of comfort that can’t be beaten.
“The MAN team has been superb throughout the transaction, from initial enquiry and order to delivery and handover of the keys.”
Fitted with a drawbar chassis constructed by Wheelbase Engineering Ltd and bodied by Unique Van Bodies Ltd, the vehicles will safely load and transport a variety of belongings effortlessly.
Overseeing the handover for MAN Truck & Bus was Clive Smith, Sales Executive at Harwood Truck Centre, who said: “Our relationship with White & Company has continued to grow from strength to strength, and they have been so satisfied with the service provided by MAN that they have even put in an order for four more vehicles for 2016.
“Key to the company’s decision to choose MAN was the low unladen weight and the exceptionally high specification offered. We’re delighted that we can offer them what our competitors can’t.”
Lynne added: “We have a number of MAN trucks performing specialist tasks which demand some unusual chassis specifications and Clive makes sure we get exactly what we ask for.”
Running since 1871, White & Company are a family owned removals business in the UK who are involved in every aspect of the removals industry from domestic, European and international removals to archive storage, corporate shipping and office relocation with over 200 vehicles and 17 centres.
