Bradford adds The Beerhouse to growing social scene
A new addition to Bradford’s rapidly growing social scene will be opening its doors for the first time early next week.
The Beerhouse, a high-end pub in North Parade, will officially be open for the public to enjoy from lunchtime on Tuesday, March 31.
The new food and drink venue is located in the area dubbed Bradford’s Independent Quarter by traders and visitors.
The historic Victorian building had to undergo a major refurbishment during the building process of the pub, which will offer customers a selection of craft beers along with Yorkshire Cask Ales, as well as home-cooked pub consisting of locally-sourced produce.
The Beerhouse is the latest venue that has been part-funded by a Bradford City Centre Growth Zone grant from the council and, with 30 staff working in the bar and kitchen, the pub is one of the largest new job providers.
The Beerhouse will be launched by Jas Bhatt and Kathy O’Brien, owners of the popular Saltaire pub and eatery, The Boathouse Inn.
Jas said: “After a lot of hard work by everyone involved and, of course, a few challenges, it’s very satisfying to see it all come together and we are delighted to be able to welcome our new customers to The Beerhouse. We’re extremely pleased with the results and we hope everyone will like it as much as we do.
“We’d like to say a big thank-you to everyone who’s worked on the project, as well as all the good people of Bradford and beer lovers who’ve been supporting us along the way and patiently waiting for this big day!”
David Robertson-Brown of Gumption, who provides business support to Growth Zone clients under contract to Bradford council, said: “The Beerhouse brings many positive attributes to the current offer on North Parade. Not only is it creating over 30 good quality jobs for the people of Bradford, but its scale and high quality food offering will attract many more new visitors to the area – and this is very important.
“It will be open from 11am onwards and will serve customers right through the day for lunches and evening meals. The Beerhouse will bring further stability to the area’s growing hospitality offer and help to build its reputation as a quality destination.”
