Carlisle joinery secures five figure investment
A Carlisle joinery business is benefitting from a £75,000 investment that will support new apprenticeships and boost local job opportunities.
Border Joinery - the in-house joinery manufacturing division of Esh Border Construction - is set to go from strength to strength after investing in a range of new equipment.
Among the additions to the business are a new delivery van, multi-cutter saw, edgebander, and spray booth for doors and windows, providing the facility with greater capacity to accommodate its growing production demands.
Esh Border Construction has strongly supported the Burgh Road Industrial Estate workshop since taking over its running last year – and is set to further supplement its eight staff this year.
Regional Managing Director, Simon Phillips said:
“The culture of Esh Group involves working closely with the communities in which we operate, and the employment that Border Joinery is creating goes hand-in-hand with that goal.
“The joinery workshop’s strong product pipeline and growing staff numbers have meant that we have needed to accommodate increased production and provide further capacity as we continue to grow.
“This £75,000 investment therefore comes at the perfect time.
“We are thrilled that we have been able to support the joinery workshop in the latest stage of its development and I look forward to seeing it thrive for many years to come.”
The workshop now creates high quality, bespoke products that are sold all over the UK, servicing all of Esh Border Construction’s regions of operation.
Border Joinery has significantly developed its offering to include private barn conversions, balconies, kitchens, stairs, doors, windows, and counters.
It has worked on numerous big and small projects across Cumbria including renovation and new build schemes, the refurbishment of the award-winning Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway, and is currently creating lockers for Gullane Golf Club in East Lothian, which will be hosting this year’s Scottish Open.
It has a wealth of experience in all areas of construction, providing specialist services for new build projects, restoration, and refurbishment works.
