It’s a matter of time!

Ten children from local school, Fountain Primary, visited Barratt Homes’ St Andrew’s View development in Morley yesterday to bury a time capsule filled with items from their most recent history project.

The children have spent the last few weeks drawing pictures and collecting photographs of Morley and describing them on postcards which will fill the time capsule, which they then helped to bury. Afterwards the children were given a chance to ‘meet the builder’ and enjoyed a talk by the site construction personnel and contracts manager, Mark Oates, on how homes are built and how to stay safe near a construction site.

Sue Smout, Sales Manager at St Andrew’s View, commented: “It was great to have the children from Fountain Primary School visiting our development and burying pieces of history for future generations to find! A key focus for Barratt Homes is to nurture the communities in which we have our developments and Morley is a fantastic area with a wealth of local history where we want our residents, and the wider community as a whole, to contribute to the continuing story of the area.”

Amy Stephenson, Year 1 teacher at Fountain Primary School, said: “The children have loved collecting items, photographs and news stories about Morley over the last few weeks, and were very excited to think that work that they’ve done could be found in the future! We had a great time at St Andrew’s View, and Richard engaged them wonderfully when he gave his talk.”

St Andrew’s View is a beautiful development situated on Bruntcliffe Road in Morley, Leeds. It offers three and four bedroom homes with prices starting from £194,995.
