Knight Frank concludes Leeds Parcel Company’s expansion to Millshaw Park

The Leeds branch of Knight Frank, a global property consultancy, assisted Evans Property Group on the letting of a 27,000 sq ft warehouse at Millshaw Industrial Park in south Leeds.

Leeds Parcel Company, one of the UK’s largest independent carriers of all types of freight, has picked up the lease on the warehouse, and therefore move from its old premises at Gelderd Trading Estate, West Vale, in Leeds.

The carrier firm has taken a 20-year lease on the warehouse, which as refurbished by Knight Frank’s Building Consultancy team, led by David Burns, with rent in the range of £3.25 per sq ft.

Andy Wilby, the chairman of the Leeds Parcel Company, commented: “We have outgrown our old site, which is no longer suitable for us. The move is part of a planned growth strategy to upgrade and expand the Leeds Parcel Company and we will be looking to increase our workforce from 60 to 80 staff.”

“These new premises are absolutely perfect for us. There is ample parking for our 35 vehicles and the building is an old British Road Services (BRS) site, so it is ideal for a company like ours, with 45 loading bays. It has also been superbly refurbished to create an excellent working environment.”

Tom Lamb, industrial property specialist with Knight Frank in Leeds, added: “This is a tremendous letting for everyone concerned. Apart from creating 20 new and mainly local jobs, it underlines the popularity of Millshaw Park, the best located industrial park in south Leeds”.

Catherine Godfrey of the Leeds-based Evans Property Group, also commented: “We are delighted to welcome Leeds Parcel Company to Millshaw Park. This latest deal means we now only have 11,000 sq ft available, representing a record void level of 3 per cent, which epitomises the strength of the occupational market in Leeds and the quality of the estate and its location.”
