North West buses see university pass sales rise 116%
Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire have seen ticket sales for its new Unirider Plus pass rise by 24.2% in Liverpool and 116% in Chester.
The Merseyside Unirider Plus offers unlimited bus travel on all Stagecoach’s services across Merseyside and Cheshire including Liverpool, Wirral, Southport, St Helens, Chester and Ellesmere Port.
The pass, which is valid anytime, seven days a week, is available to students and staff attending the University of Liverpool, Liverpool Hope University, Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Chester.
Managing director of Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire, Elisabeth Tasker, said: “Our Unirider Plus pass offers students and staff at Liverpool and Chester based universities the opportunity to take advantage of a sustainable, convenient travel option at a great price.
“Our Unirider Plus pass is a straightforward, low cost catch-all ticket which covers a wide geographic area.
“Students can easily travel to study and to work, while also easily accessing the great social and leisure opportunities that Merseyside and Cheshire have to offer, all on one ticket with no time restrictions.
“It’s great to see such a positive reaction to the new pass and the cities’ students backing the buses. We look forward to welcoming more Unirider Plus passengers on board. “
