Ackworth’s dining scene receives boost with the opening of a new Mediterranean restaurant
Today the Frog & Moose in Ackworth has officially announced the opening of Mediterranean inspired restaurant, Oregano, after investing £90,000 into a purpose-built kitchen that includes a stone baked oven and theatre style setting.
Paul Piddington, the head chef and former mentor for Gondola Holdings for over 15 years, designed the new restaurant, located inside the current pub venue, which offers a selection of delicious Italian dishes - something the local people may not have experienced before.
As for the dishes, starters will range from £4 and main courses will start at £8. These affordable prices and family-friendly setting aim to attract customers for any occasion.
The selection of starter dishes include bruschetta, anti-pasto and calamari, followed by an array of mains including pizza, pasta, cannaloni and calzone, as well as salads, specials and a range of side orders.
With an abundance of young professionals in the Ackworth area, the restaurant is expected to quickly become a firm favourite.
As well as improving the Ackworth’s dining scene, the restaurant will also create up to 8 jobs with positions currently available for both full and part time front of house waiting staff and chef vacancies.
The Frog and Moose recently completed a £300,000 refurbishment to include structural repairs, refit and entire redecoration plus fixtures and fittings throughout.
Paul Piddington, the head chef, said: “We have worked long and hard to create the perfect balance of good food, atmosphere and value for money. Ackworth is a vibrant place to live and we want to give local people an option which goes beyond the typical pub grub.
“Oregano is a restaurant in a pub setting, quite an unusual concept. It was important to us that we had a theatre style kitchen so that people can see us prepare the dishes and the stone baked pizza oven is a great addition to the purpose built kitchen.
“We are really looking forward to showcasing what we have to offer to both our regular customers and those that have yet to visit the Frog and Moose. We are sure that they will be pleasantly surprised.”
