Innovative Hotel Booking Platform ‘ByHours.com’ Announces UK Launch

A revolutionary new hotels booking platform is preparing to launch in the UK, in an effort to expand its unique approach to booking hotels for unconventional periods of time.

ByHours.com, is the the world’s very first booking platform and mobile app designed to shake up the travel accommodation market by introducing a unique business model, based around micro-stays and pay-per-use bookings. The mobile app offer users a complete booking solution for hotels, in sets of 3,6 and 12 hour periods, and also provides users with the convenience of being able to select their own check in and check out times. Many of the hotels are situated near to airports, train stations and city centres making them perfect for business travellers in need of down time.

Having already established a foothold in Spain, ByHours.com has announced plans to launch the service within the UK, and have already onboarded several selected hotels in central London.

Since its inception in 2012, ByHours.com has served thousands of customers and seen steady growth across the booking platform. Prior to a UK launch ByHours.com has been extensively rolled out and tested rigorously as a business model in Barcelona and Madrid as well as Bilbao, Sevilla, Valencia and Zaragoza all of which showed successful market uptake. More than 150,000 bookings were made in 2014 through over 1500 hotels; an increase of 150 % over the previous year.

Christian Rodriguez, CEO and founder of ByHours.com stated “We have tested our model in Spain, a good country to test new travel business models and the third most popular tourist destination in the world. In Spain, particularly in cities such as Barcelona or Madrid, we’ve had very good results and are very well received by the hoteliers, however ByHours.com has an ambition to be a global company. London is the first on our list for expansion because the UK travel sector is mature, the business model will work well between customers and hoteliers alike. It’s also a key destination for business travellers who are our core market.

Mr Rodriguez continued “Our target is strictly business, and our goal is to improve customer’s whole travel experience, in addition to strengthening the local leisure economies. Customers can see in the hotels of the city as an attractive proposition from where to enjoy their free time or to just enjoy some down time or a shower before a big business meeting. In Spain we have hotels that generate more than €70,000 in profit this year, and now our aim is to be able to do the same in Europe, starting with London. Hotels in Spain have generated €5.5M extra in the last twelve months by using the ByHours platform.”

Unlike other room booking services and apps currently available, ByHours.com adopts a fresh thinking approach to short stay accommodation and focusses on business travellers requiring very short periods of stay. Currently, ByHours.com works in London with H10 Waterloo, The Kingsway Hall Hotel, Yotel Gatwick and Yotel Heathrow, Ramada Hotel & Suites, and the Academy Hotel. Plans are in place to have up to 25 hotels available by April 2015.
