Extra seats as Copenhagen route proves popular

With strong bookings on SAS’ route between Newcastle and Copenhagen since its launch in February 2013, SAS has announced the introduction of increased seats on the route from 29 March 2015. Replacing the daily (except Saturday) service with a larger aircraft, moving from a 50 seat CRJ-200 to a larger 88 seat CRJ-900, North East residents will benefit from increased capacity and so more chances to buy tickets at the lowest fares!

Offering convenient times for both business and leisure travellers, SAS flights between Newcastle and Copenhagen are ideal to travel after work, and return after a day in the office or exploring the city:

  • Departs Newcastle daily except Saturday at 19:20, arriving Copenhagen 22:00
  • Depart Copenhagen daily except Saturday at 18:00, arriving Newcastle 18:50

Leon McQuaid, Aviation Development Manager at Newcastle Airport, said: “We’re delighted that SAS has decided to increase capacity from Newcastle Airport. More seats provide an even greater opportunity for the North East travelling public to holiday or do business in one of Europe’s great cities, or travel beyond to other Scandinavian destinations.”

Prices start from just £108 one way, including all taxes and charges - on sale now at www.flysas.co.uk. Prices quoted are in SAS Go, the airline’s economy service, which includes all taxes and charges, a checked bag at no extra cost, newspapers, coffee and tea on board and several services to save time, including mobile check-in and seat selection.

Offering a great short break option, increased capacity on flights to Copenhagen comes as the Danish city celebrates being awarded 18 Michelin stars across 15 restaurants, a new record for the city. The first edition of the ‘Michelin Nordic Cities’ guide, launched this March, underlines Copenhagen’s position as the region’s gastronomic capital, and also saw it awarded 10 Bib Gourmands, given to restaurants that offer excellent value for money.
