More than 100 homes go officially on sale in Bedfordshire
Leading UK house builder Persimmon Homes has officially made available more than 100 homes at a Bedfordshire development.
Heritage Gardens in Biggleswade will see around 120 properties built once it is complete and will boast one, two, three and four bedroom homes.
Last Saturday (February 14) the development’s show home was officially unveiled by Sarah Paszkowski, who was the first person to put pen to paper on a house at the new site.
Sarah, aged 28, along with her partner Joe Turner, 30, bought their property thanks to the Help to Buy scheme.
Help to Buy is a Government-backed equity loan scheme that aims to make mortgages more readily available to those who cannot afford a large deposit.
Available to first-time buyers and people already on the property ladder, the scheme requires just a 5 per cent deposit and a mortgage of up to 75 per cent of the value of the property.
Sarah, a mother-of-one said: “This is our first home and we wouldn’t have been able to buy it without the Help to Buy scheme.
“Myself and Joe worked full time but despite that it was difficult to save for a home. Then we had my first child, Hadley, and it was an added pressure on top but with Help to Buy it is perfect for first time buyers like ourselves.
“Now we have our brand new home and we love it.”
Prices for properties at Heritage Gardens, located in the King’s Reach community, begin at £134,995.
Once the development is completed it will include a new lower school, a community centre, bus service and new shops. It will also include enhancements to a local library and sporting facilities.
Samantha Watkins, sales manager at Persimmon Homes East Midlands said: “These are beautiful homes that have the advantage of being in a rural location but with easy links into Biggleswade.
“The development sits on the commuter belt for London and is less than 40 miles away from the capital with trains into central London taking less than an hour.
“We’re delighted that these stunning homes have officially gone on sale – we’ve already had a great amount of interest in them and encourage people to come and see us to find out more.”
