Town Centre Securities obtain planning permission for Whitehall office block
Leeds’ Town Centre Securities (TCS) has partnered with GMI Construction to secure the planning approval for an 8 storey office, which will be approximately 70,000 Sq Ft with 38 parking spaces, on Whitehall Road.
The new project is part of the TCS Whitehall Riverside scheme, which also consists of 300,000 sq ft of offices, as well as a 500 multi-storey car park and extensive public realm.
The development will link to the established walkway and pedestrian bridge that connects to the Whitehall Riverside Canal path - a popular cyclist and pedestrian route to the city centre.
Award-winning architects Cartwright pickard, which has an office in Leeds, designed the new office building, which was granted only days before the new Community Infrastructure Levy was launched in the cityon April 6.
This news comes only a week after TCS secured two deals to bring new tennants to Leeds Merrion Centre, which have approximately created up to 17 new jobs in the city centre.
TCS hopes to start work on the scheme later this year subject to part pre-let to which negations are in hand.
