Doncaster family bakery to supply supermarket Booths with speciality pie range
The Topping Pie Company, a Doncaster-based bakery, has secured a deal with regional food and drink retailer Booths to provide a range of speciality pork pies, including a apple topped product for the deli counters of its 30 retail stores.
Based off the success of Toppings festive range, Booths will now supply 4 new products from the family-run bakery, including a new Bramley apple topped pork pie (120g), created especially for the retailer.
Booths delis have introduced a new Toppings Dinky caramelised red onion topped pork pie (120g); a Pickle and cheese topped pork pie (190g) and a Stilton topped pork pie (190g). The Huntsman pork and chicken pie (450g) is also now available.
Toppings pies, which are hand-produced at the bakery using British Red Tractor pork and locally sourced ingredients, are inspired by Maggie Topping’s family recipes and baked to look home-made.
Matthew Topping, sales director at The Topping Pie Company, said: “We are delighted to introduce new products to the store and to tailor bake a special pie just for Booths customers.
“We have been looking to create the very best apple topped pork pie and we now think we’ve got just the right mix of delicious pork topped with the sharp, sweet crunch of Bramley apples in a rich hot water pastry crust.”
Matt Bruno, Booths deli buyer, added: “We are delighted to extend our premium pie offer and to work with The Topping Pie Company, who produce a high quality range of handcrafted pies which have proven popular with our discerning customer-base. As part of the range, we worked with the bakery to create a bespoke apple topped pork pie just for Booths customers and we think the finished result will be a great addition to our deli counters.”
The Topping Pie Company is a multi award winning business that employs 50 staff.
