NABS become part of Great Newham Run
15th April 2015: NABS has today announced that it will be partnering with ESI Media, inviting teams across advertising and media to take part in a marathon team relay in the Morrisons Great Newham London Run. Teams entering from Adland will have the opportunity to cross the finish line inside the Olympic stadium, following Jessica Ennis-Hill, Usain Bolt and Mo Farah, whilst fundraising for NABS, the industry’s support organisation.
The NABS Marathon Team Relay, supported by ESI Media will see teams of four (2 female, 2 male) from across the advertising and media industry participate in the 42.16K relay (the equivalent of a marathon), with each member completing a 10.54K lap. The event will raise money to help fund the support organisation’s various services, such as its Resilience Programme, the Advice Line and 1:1 career coaching.
The fastest team will be in with a chance of winning a once in a lifetime VIP trip to take part in the Great Ethiopian Run, plus lunch with Haile Gebrselassie; the greatest distance athlete of all time. Other prizes will include the chance to participate in either the Great Ireland Run in Dublin or the Great Edinburgh Run in Scotland. All prizes will include both travel and accommodation.
The relay will take place on Sunday 19th July at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Diana Tickell, CEO at NABS, said: “Partnering with ESI Media on an event such as the Morrisons Great Newham London Run allows the industry to not only raise money to help NABS keep delivering its services, but also brings us together. Whether you’re a serious runner or casual jogger, you and your team mates have the incredible opportunity to run across the finish line inside the Olympic stadium; following in the footsteps of the stars of London 2012.”
Steve Auckland, Group CEO at ESI Media, said: “Partnering with NABS was a no brainer for the Morrisons Great Newham London Run. To help encourage some healthy competition amongst our agency and media friends can only be a good thing, especially if ESI Media win!! We’ll also be raising a few quid to support those who are less fortunate than ourselves in our industry. It’s also not a bad opportunity to say you’ve run the Olympic course and crossed the finishing line where Jessica Ennis-Hill and Mo Farah triumphed.”
Entry costs £25 per runner, plus fundraising. To enter visit www.greatrun.org/marathon-relay
