£5.8m ‘Five-star care home’ launches second phase
Lytham-based Lakeview Rest Homes has launched the second phase of its ground-breaking £5.8million flagship development, The Moorings.
Recognised as the most outstanding care home redevelopment in the UK, The Moorings is now a 78-en-suite bedroomed home, with panoramic views of the Fylde coastline from Lytham’s North Promenade.
50 jobs have been created with the launch of The Moorings.
Billed as ‘like a 5-star hotel with care included’, the second phase includes an indoor bowling and putting green, a hydrotherapy spa with therapeutic Jacuzzi and mood lighting, a roof terrace with water fountains and a games room.
The first phase, which opened in December 2013 with 29 rooms, also features a hair and beauty salon, an on-site restaurant and chef and a 12-seater cinema.
The Moorings is part of the Lakeview Rest Homes group, a family-owned business established in 1987 that runs four care homes in Lytham. Rosewood Lodge, Lakeview and Newfield Lodge are part of the Lakeview Rest Homes group, along with The Moorings.
Nick Wood, managing director of Lakeview Rest Homes, said: “We specialise in providing a personal level of care which recognises the importance of independence, dignity and choice, and The Moorings is a prime example of this. The 5-star hotel principles we bring to our residents affords them absolute dignity, and offers an unrivalled luxurious independence.
“Our team of 50 provide the highest quality of care and outstanding facilities to those who would otherwise struggle to access them. We are placing Lakeview firmly at the heart of the community.
“We receive exceptional feedback from our current residents and cannot wait to welcome new residents to our home. To see The Moorings full of life, from what was just a blueprint a few years ago, is absolutely tremendous – I’m incredibly proud of all of the Lakeview team who have been involved in this project.”
