Double success for EDP clients Microsoft and LSEG

EDP, the St Helens-based health, safety and environmental consultants, is celebrating the successes of two prestigious clients, London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and Microsoft, for which it fulfils key roles in health and safety and environmental management.

LSEG was this month awarded the Chairman’s Cup for Large Sites in the Clean City Awards, the highest accolade for responsible waste management within the City of London. During the awards, LSEG was commended for achieving significant improvements in environmental performance, including successfully managing to divert all residual waste from landfill. Supported by EDP, LSEG reduced overall waste by five per cent and achieved an overall recycling rate of 97 per cent.

EDP’s Mark Lombard, (pictured) said: “We’ve provided health, safety and environment services to LSEG for eight years, fulfilling key roles within the organisation and providing specialist support and advice, as LSEG developed a strong national and global reputation as a leader in sustainability and effective environmental management. We’re delighted and proud to have been able to support them in achieving this major accolade.”

The second achievement involves another of EDP’s long standing clients, Microsoft, which recently hosted the British Safety Council for its annual combined OHSAS 18001 and Five Star Occupational Health and Safety audit.

EDP has worked with Microsoft for over 15 years, providing an in-house team that is responsible for managing health, safety and environment across Microsoft’s UK offices. By providing guidance and support to the business as it embedded effective safety management and ensured efficient systems, measures and structured approaches were in place, EDP’s team was instrumental in Microsoft successfully maintaining its “Five Star” status and OHSAS 18001 certification during the audit.
