Thomson and First Choice introduce new flights from Newcastle International Airport

Thomson and First Choice have announced that in summer 2016 they will be increasing capacity at Newcastle International Airport through the introduction of additional seats and new fortnightly flights to Cancun, Mexico.

The move to introduce these routes is part of the UK’s leading holiday company’s strategy to ensure customers across the UK can fly from their local airport, and stay at the best hotels in some of the most exciting destinations including the 5T Sensatori Resort Mexico in Riviera Maya which boasts a beachfront setting, in-room hot tubs, six restaurants and 24 hour gourmet inclusive dining. The new routes will go on sale on the 23rd April 2015.

Not only will customers from Newcastle be able to fly to some fantastic destinations, but they will also have the opportunity to choose varying durations – not just the standard seven and 14 night stays. Customers travelling from Newcastle will also now be able to choose from additional 10 and 11 night durations to Naples, Italy.

Following the success of similar routes across a number of regional airports, we know that the demand is there.

“Expanding access to our portfolio of destinations and hotels is a key part of our overall strategy and we hope that this move will enhance the holiday experience for our customers.”

Cancun offers easy access to Mexico’s Caribbean coast and this additional capacity means even more people can take advantage of non-stop flights from Newcastle on the Dreamliner.

“The extra weekly flight to Naples brings more choice of holiday durations and further increases the appeal of this part of Italy for summer holidays.”
