Plumbing specialist boosts funding pipeline for local brain tumour charity
Northallerton based independent heating and plumbing specialist HCS Mechanical Services has chosen Brain Tumour Research and Support across Yorkshire (BTRS) as its nominated charity for 2015.
HCS employees have spearheaded their fundraising drive with 15 members of staff undertaking the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in September.
Funds raised from the challenge will support vital research projects for the charity which provides patient and family support for people diagnosed with brain tumours across Yorkshire and Humber. They will also assist sufferers or carers financially and contribute towards purchasing necessary equipment.
BTRS Events & Fundraising Manager Sorrell Coulson said: “It is great to have the dedicated support from the HCS Mechanical team. Ultimately, we want to raise awareness and funds for the charity to support the vital work that we do in helping to support those affected by a brain tumour whilst also funding research to find a cure.”
Vicky Wilson, finance director at HCS Mechanical, a third generation family business, said: “The wife of one of our engineers discovered she had a brain tumour, and as a company and a colleague of our employee, we wanted to help in any way we could. BTRS is a vital charity that is playing an instrumental role in helping to find a cure for this devastating disease that affects so many people.”
A champion of giving back to its local communities, HCS Mechanical provides private, commercial and industrial customers with a wide range of plumbing and heating services; including maintenance and installations, 24hr breakdown cover and landlord safety checks and certification.
