Delifonseca creates fiery pie for St. George’s Day
As part of its St. George’s Day celebrations, Delifonseca has unveiled a fiery pie creation.
Throughout Thursday, April 23, the multi-award winning Dockside venue will challenge those ‘brave enough to take on’ its exclusive St. George and the Dragon Pie, which pays homage to the ancient legend.
Proprietor, Candice Fonseca said: “This year we wanted to make a special effort in marking England’s national day, as it is often pushed aside unlike popular calendar dates such as St. Patrick’s Day.
“With that in mind, our chefs have put their culinary skills to the test, in order to devise a delicious dish that symbolises the Dragon-Slaying Patron Saint of England.”
Set to be a hit with pastry-lovers, the hearty British-inspired pie is filled with Roast Beef of Old England, Garlic, Ginger, Chilli and Shallots and served alongside Mash and Gravy.
Candice added: “As always, we like to be creative with our unique foodie offerings. We are certain that our novel pie will be loved by every one of all ages, as it combines patriotic novelty with great flavours.”
