Smith & Williamson bolsters its Manchester tax team

Smith & Williamson, the accountancy and investment management group, has strengthened its Manchester office with the appointment of Karl Rosedale as Director in its private client tax services team.

As well as building on the already established sports team, Karl will be assisting with client-focused teams to make sure that all clients’ needs are met in addition to working on individual and corporate tax compliance.

On Karl’s appointment, Andrew McKenna, head of tax investigations and head of the Manchester office of Smith & Williamson, said:

“As we continue to grow and expand our service offering across the North West, Karl will help us deliver a first rate service to our clients and their business interests. He has a wealth of valuable experience and an extremely extensive network of intermediaries, as well as being a major player in terms of representing prominent sports people in the region, so he has a lot to bring to the table.”

On his appointment, Karl Rosedale commented:

“I am delighted to join the firm at a time when there are so many exciting developments. The Manchester office has big plans in terms of building and developing the team over the coming months and there are a number of opportunities moving forward.”

Karl joins the firm, which is based in Spinningfields, from Baker Tilly, where he previously worked as an Associate Director across the North West. He has wide-ranging experience in tax planning and tax compliance.

Smith & Williamson dates back over 100 years and ventured into the Manchester market in 2011. The group registered all-time-highs and delivered continued growth in the six months to 31 October 2014, with a solid performance from the Investment Management and Banking division as well as the Tax and Business Services division. Adjusted operating profits grew evenly across both sides of the business to deliver 14% growth overall, building on the previous year’s performance.
