£1.5m contract win for Newcastle research agency creates ten new jobs
Explain Market Research, a Newcastle-based research agency, has won a £1.5m contract within the UK energy sector, creating ten new jobs in the region.
The contract, which will start in May 2015, has been commissioned by the six UK distribution network operators (who are responsible for delivering electricity to the doors of millions of UK homes and businesses) to provide customer research.
Explain Market Research has been commissioned to provide vital intelligence on customers’ views which are used to inform and drive forward future plans to improve customer service across their businesses.
Kim Davis, Explain Market Research’s Managing Director, said: “It is essential for the Distribution Network Operators who provide utility services to millions of customers to understand the views of their customers to enable them to, where necessary, continuously improve the services they provide.
“The research, that we are delivering, will provide an essential insight for the DNOs to help them identify areas of improvement so that they can deliver the best possible services.”
David Shiel, Chief Executive, said: “This is fantastic news for Explain and even better news that we can secure more jobs locally.
“We have a strong track record of delivering customer research across the energy and utility sectors and this win is a testament to the quality of service that we provide.
“We are very proud of the fact that despite the economic challenges the region has faced over the last few years, we have continued to grow and provide job security to our existing team as well as creating new opportunities for those looking for work.”
