Wearable tech firm Fitbug signs health insurance partnership

Wearable gadget manufacturer Fitbug has announced it has secured a partnership with innovative health and protection providers Punter Southall Health & Protection Consulting Limited (PSHPC) to supply its products to customers.

The Camden-based company will provide its wearable health technology for the first group income protection solution being launched under PSHPC’s Havensrock brand.

Havensrock Income Protection is underwritten by Aviva Life and Pensions UK Limited and will provide the Fitbug Orb, a personal, easy-to-use, wearable movement & sleep tracker, to policy holders as part of its new wellness programme.

Earlier this year, Fitbug reported it was expecting to announce a full year loss following heavy investment in R&D.

In addition, Fitbug has agreed a partnership with Cancer Research UK (CRUK) and to be its Official Fitness Partner of Race for Life for 2015, which includes their flagship event series.

Paul Landau CEO of Fitbug Limited said, “The wearable health technology sector has significant potential to revolutionise the health space. Our innovative range of wearable tracking devices and digital coaching programmes give individuals the ability to achieve their health and wellness goals.

“We are delighted that Havensrock and PSHPC have selected Fitbug to partner with them in this innovative and exciting programme.

“This agreement underpins our collaborative approach and highlights the versatility of our unique service offering which we remain committed to growing in line with our strategy of increasing our market share within both the B2B and B2C arenas.”
