Enscite’s advice leads to major contract for Micron

Advice from the technology and innovation consultancy Enscite has led to a significant contract from a global manufacturer of parts for the automotive market for niche engineering design company Micron Design.

Enscite has worked with Leicester-based Micron Design to develop a fresh sales and marketing campaign designed to enhance market awareness and win business in new areas for the firm.

Micron offers a complete engineering service from design concept through to manufactured prototypes and full production, including new product design and the development or evolution of existing designs and products. Working within the high precision engineering, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, automotive, medical, aerospace and plastics industries, Micron’s team of engineers deliver a complete service that includes mechanical, electronic, electrical, software/firmware design, compliance and testing to appropriate standards such as EMC and CE marking.

Established in 1998, Micron became part of gasfill Limited in 2007. The company recently passed its 17th year of operation and felt that it needed to refresh its messaging and target new contract wins, as Neil Johnson explains: “We had marketing collateral in place, but were striving to develop and implement a more focussed, structured and proactive marketing strategy that would provide focus for growing the business and customer base.

“We spoke with Enscite at the end of 2014, and discussed our aims. They reached out to their partner network and put us in touch with Charles Hancock of Derby Business School. Charles analysed the business, came up with a thorough SWOT profile and worked with us to turn this into a viable strategy and plan which we can now implement. Armed with our new marketing material and tools, we have been able to reconnect with past contacts as well as forge links with fresh prospects.

“Within a few weeks of beginning work on this project with Enscite, we are delighted to have secured a significant contract with one of our old clients that we hadn’t worked with for some time.”

From October 2015 Enscite will operate out of a brand new, state-of-the-art Innovation Centre on Infinity Park, Derby – a 100 acre commercial and technology park designed to host manufacturing supply chain companies across the transport engineering sector. Within the Innovation Centre will be a ‘Fab Lab’ facility offering start-ups and established businesses easy access to design and prototyping services.
