Galliford Try secures £38m Hull and East Riding education contract
Uxbridge-based Galliford Try, the housebuilding and construction group, has secured two new education contracts in the Yorkshire region worth up to £55m.
Galliford Try’s Building business has reached financial close on the £38m Hull and East Riding section under the first phase of the Government’s Priority School Building Programme.
This particular section includes the £18.6m construction of Hessle High School and Sixth Form College, as well as new buildings for Eastfield, Francis Askew, Wold and Ainthorpe primary schools.
Furthermore, Morrison Construction has been appointed by Moray Council for the refurbishment of four primary schools under the LHC Framework. The package is worth up to £17m to the business and includes projects at Applegrove in Forres, Millbank in Buckie, Seafield in Elgin and St Gerardines in Lossiemouth.
Greg Fitzgerald, executive chairman of Galliford Try, said: “Education remains a cornerstone for our Building business across the UK and we are delighted to have been awarded these contracts. We look forward to working with our partners to create school buildings fit for the provision of a high-quality education for their pupils.”
