Interactive recruitment event for Crowne Plaza Newcastle

Hundreds of job applicants are set to attend an interactive recruitment event with a potential to land a role with Newcastle’s soon-to-open, luxurious Crowne Plaza Newcastle hotel.

The event is to be held at the hotel’s neighbouring venue, the Boiler Shop, and will take place between 2-7pm on Monday, May 18 and 10am-4pm on the following day. It is supported by the local InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®) partners Newcastle College, InTraining, Gateshead College, Brenikov Training and JobCentre+.

Anyone wanting to attend the event needs to register by ringing hotline number 07989 183560, that will be open from May 11 until May 15, between 7am-7pm each day.

On the day candidates will have to arrive at their arranged appointment time. They will see a short IHG® video, a presentation about the hotel and a session of ‘speed-dating’ interviews with the senior team of much the anticipated Crowne Plaza® Newcastle – Stephenson Quarter hotel.

Stands detailing the job roles available will be set up around the event. IHG® Academy partners will also be on hand to assist with any queries.

Jane Klotz, Human Resource Manager at Crowne Plaza Newcastle, said: “The hotel promises to offer our guests a superb service and first-class experience that are distinctive to the Crowne Plaza brand.

“In order to deliver on this promise, we recognise the importance of the people who will work in the front-line of our hotel. Therefore, we’re setting up this interactive recruitment event which will help us to find the best local talent.”

Through the two days over 500 preregistered slots will be available on first-come-first-serve basis.

On the day, each candidate will have a registration card which will be used for ‘speed interview’ notes and later collated and retained for use at formal interview stages. All candidates will be directed to apply on line at careers.ihg.com where all available roles will be posted.

Over 100 job roles will be created at the hotel in the run up to its summer opening.

InTraining, national training provider operating as a part of Newcastle College locally, are coordinating the event. They are manning the phone hotline and will be managing the registration desk at the event.
